Ingredients
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- 30 g sugar
- 1 tsp instant yeast
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 120 ml warm milk
- 1 egg
- 40 g unsalted butter, softened
- 100 g cream cheese
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 apple, peeled and diced
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 40 g flour
- 25 g sugar
- 25 g cold butter, cubed
- 4 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1–2 tsp milk
Instructions
- Prepare the dough by mixing flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in one bowl. In another bowl, whisk warm milk, egg, and softened butter together. Combine wet and dry ingredients until a soft dough forms; knead gently until smooth.
- Allow the dough to rise in a greased bowl for about 30-45 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Make the fillings: sauté diced apples with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until tender. Mix cream cheese with sugar and vanilla until smooth.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread cheesecake filling over it, top with apple filling, roll tightly, and cut into six pieces.
- Prepare crumble topping by mixing flour, sugar, and cold butter until crumbly; sprinkle over each bun before baking.
- Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Make glaze by mixing powdered sugar with milk; drizzle over cooled buns.
