  • 4 slices hearty bread
  • 2 tbsp softened butter
  • ¼ cup apple butter
  • 4 oz sharp cheddar cheese (thinly sliced)
  • 1 apple (thinly sliced)
  • ½ pound sliced deli turkey or turkey leftovers
  • 8 leaves fresh sage

Instructions

  1. Preheat your panini maker as per the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. On the unbuttered side of one slice, spread apple butter and layer with cheddar cheese, apple slices, turkey, and sage leaves.
  4. Top with another slice of bread (buttered side out), then place in the preheated panini maker.
  5. Close the lid and grill for about 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Remove, cut in half if desired, and serve warm.
